DAY 1 - Sunday
Fly or drive to Greenville, South Carolina. We will pick you up
at the airport and take you to your bikes. Try them out, and then meet for
dinner and an evening spent getting to know everyone.
DAY 2 - Monday (Approximately 100 miles)
Leave Greenville, South Carolina and head straight into the mountains to the
panoramic views from Caesar's Head. We wind our way into North Carolina through
Brevard to Highlands, and then follow the Cullasaja River, with its awesome
waterfalls, to Franklin. We then follow more twisty roads to the Nantahala River
Gorge where we spend the night. Eat dinner on the banks of the Nantahala, watch the
kayakers and maybe take an evening ride up the river.
DAY 3 - Tuesday (Approximately 140 miles)
After breakfast we head for Tennessee passing through the infamous Deals Gap,
with over 300 curves in eleven miles. We travel the foothills of the Smoky
Mountains into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park for more great roads,
scenery and site seeing. After lunch we cross through the Park
back into North Carolina and spend the night near the Cherokee Indian
Reservation , where you can visit the many shops, rest up for the next day,
or spend the evening in Harrah's Casino.
DAY
4 - Wednesday
(Approximately 90 miles)
We spend the morning on the first section of the wonderful winding Blue Ridge
Parkway, one of the most scenic roads in America, and certainly one of the great roads for motorcycles! We arrive in
Asheville for
lunch, and spend the rest of the day touring the Biltmore estate, the grand
castle, gardens and winery built by George Vanderbilt in the late 1800s. Explore
Asheville if you like, and then retire to the historic Grove Park Inn for the night.
DAY 5 - Thursday ( Approximately 140 miles)
Back to the Blue Ridge Parkway heading north through more spectacular scenery.
We will leave the Parkway to ride through the high country of North Carolina on
some incredible winding roads. We end our day in Blowing Rock, a charming town
full of shops and restaurants.
DAY 6 - Friday
(Approximately 150 Miles)
We follow roads through the North Carolina Ski country as we head back toward
Asheville and Greenville. We stop for lunch at Lake Lure and then
tour Chimney Rock State park with it's spectacular mountain views. After lunch we take the long
and winding route back to Greenville through Tryon, Saluda and the Greenville
water shed.
